IT. E. Osborne, auctioneer, reports the sale of the freehold property of the late Thomas Hamilton. Esq , at Lone Bush, known as Rozelle Farm, and containine 616 acres, at the Southland Club on the 21st nit., as having been well attended. The estate, a'ter some competition,, was knocked, down at £1900. At the same Hme several other landed properties were offered. Section 22, block 2, Invercargill Hundred, 46 acres, unimproved, brought 21s per acre ; section 16, block 4. town of Tnvercargill, i acre, open, £8 10s. Privately, section 5, block XT, Tnvercargill, i acre, with house, &c, brought £120. On the 22nd ult., at the Albion YaHs, I submitted 40 head mixed cattle to public competition, but buyers did not seem disposed to bid ; the lot ■were withdrawn, but placed afterwards privately at £4 per head all round. A mob of 20 light harness and hack horses, offered at same place, fetched from £7 5s to £28. One draught colt brought £37. On the 28th, at Rozelle, the stock and farm implements in the above estate were offered. The weather was not of the most favorable description, but the character of the cattle secured s good a'tendance of buyers. Ordinary cows in calf or milk brought from £5 10s to £10. Ayrshires, of which there were a herd of 20, excited keen competition, were all sold, and realised from, for milkers, £14 to £30 ; for calves, and the young stock generally, there was much cnmpetion, and they brought from £7 to £25. The horses also sold well, and brought from £16 to £34. The implements, &c., brought fair prices. An extensive furniture sale held in town on the Ist inst., at the residence of Mrs J. R. Davies, was very well attended, and bidding brisk. The furniture was all of a superior description, and readily brought first-class prices.
