In committee of supply, Mr Yogel brought down an Imprest Bill for £150,000, to meet the demands of the next six weeks, by which time he hoped the Appropriation Act would be passed, and the session ended. Mr Stafford complimented Mr Yogel upon the fairness and clearness of his statement. "Wellington, 2nd July. Mr Dillon Bell has joined the Government, without office. Mr Grisborne is to .be Colonial Secretary; Pox remaining Premier, without portfolio. The Money Bill passed the lower house to-day, and the Council is sitting to-night, to pass them. Naples, July 2. Mr Ormond has arrived here, empowered to act as Government agent.
