The Southland Times. MONDAY, JULY 5, 1869.
It will be perceived by our advertising columns that the Airedale will leave the Bluff to-day. To mate room for a full report of the meeting at the Bridge Inn, on Friday last, on the re-union question, we are compelled to hold over a large quantity of leaJing and local matter, as also correspondence. The Popular Entertainment at the Theatre Royal, on Friday evening, was as successful as any of the series. The house was well filled and the performers succeeded thoroughly in their several parts, and also in pleasing the audience. A noticeable alteration in the internal arrangements of the houae was the closing up of the doors communicating between the hotel and the Theatre, thus rendering the two entirely separate establishments. This is an improvement suggested, we believe, by the committee, which adds much to the comfort of the audience, both above and below, and which should secure for the entertainments the unhesitating patronage of all classes. A number of people paid a visit to the Bluff on Saturday last, in consequence of a telegram received in town, to the effect that a couple of whaleß had entered the harbor. On arrival of the train at Campbelltown, it was discovered that the unusual visitors had made an abrupt departure.
