BALLARAT WHOLESALE PRODUCE MARKET.
Satebday, Mat 1. Messrs EtEEtJTOtiAX, Qsesstield, and Co. report t— " Business unusually brisk towards the close of the week. Breadstuff's have improved considerably ; any fair parcels of milling wheat find ready buyers at our quotations. We'havo placed a line . of a few thousand bushels at top rates. With oats in the early part of the week the market- was barely supplied, but to-day supplies increased sufficiently to meet all the demands of . the trade. Prices have slightly hardened. Any further advance will open. our "marfeef to~hbldefs in Gieelong and Melbourne, if prices there keep' as they are fc and from the data we iave. to hand, we think they are not likely to rise very soon, as, large shipments have yet to come in from Southland and Tasmania. ! ■ . • •; i ■ • ♦
