Mr Little* the Crown Solicitor,- -has been thrown from his. horse, and dislocated his shoulder. A clerk named Farley, employed as cashier in the Railway Department, has been committed for trial on a charge of embezzlement. Kockhampion. April 3Q, It is believed that Halligan. the gold buyer, has been murdered, and a large search party were engaged yesterday in endeavouring to find some traces whicn would lead to the mystery being cleared up. After some.time spent in searching, traces of a struggle - were found on the road he was known to have taken, and on further investigation the mark of a bullet was found on one of the trees in the vicinity. Soon afterwards Halligan's hat and whip were found. ._ A man named Palmer, well-known in the district asja horse-stealer, is suspected as having haid a hand in Halligan's disappearance, and the police are making active efforts to ascertain his whereabouts. The sudden disappearance of Halligan has caused great excitement here. , . i
