THE DIOCESAN SYNOD ELECTION.
(TO THE EDITOR OF THS SOUTHLAND HUBS.) Sir — I notice that the date for sending in nominations has been extended, after ' the advertised date had passed, and tht: Bishop's assent to it (obtained , by telegram I suppose) published to countenance it. I maintain tbat it was ultra vires of the Bishop to do it, though well meant, and considering that the published time had already passed, it is a most questionable act on the part of those who have done or advised it. Should it in* flaence the resuLt, it will effectually nulify the whole of the proceedings. — I am, &c., Impabtiaiilty. m
