After the suppression of the Cadiz revolution, an iusurrection broke out at Malaga, where 700 armed insurgents prepared for resistance. Cadalero speedily arrived, and perfect tranquillity now prevails. The Duke of Montpensier puts forward pretensions to the throne for his son, a youth nine years old, and offered his support to the Government, buu ifc was declined. The elections for the Cortes took place on January 15. The Cortes meet on February 18. The loan was a failure. The Government means to economise. Tne priests are apparently as strong as ever, notwithstanding the procla. nation u£ religious liberty.
