THE ORETI RAILWAY.
Since our last summary we have much pleasure in stating that the result of the proceedings of the Provincial Council has been such as will lead to the speedy completion of the unfinished line of railway. The Council;, in accordance with instructions from the d-eneral G-o---vernment, voted 25,000 acres of land as payment to the contractor, who has agreed to proceed with the work immediately after the Christmas holidays.
