Nov. 16. Parliament has been further prorogued to the 22nd December. Business is quiet. Breadstuff's are steady, and quotations are maintained. The busines done is not large. Oats are steady at 3s 7d to 3s 9d. Maize is at 3s lOd to 4s. The Southern Cross, s.s., was successfully docked in the new graving dock on Saturday. In Baraett v. Seed, an action against the resident surgeon of the Geelong Hospital for maltreatment, the jury was discharged being unable to agree. Mr Jones has suspended the Secretary for Eailways. The Hon John Eawkner is very ill.
