The 4th of July was celebrated with the usual festivities throughout the Union. President Johnson hes issued a proclamation pardoning all participants in the Southern rebellion, excepting those who have been indicted for treason felony, \ Thaddeus Stevens is preparing new articles of impeachment, which charges the President with violating the Constitution by creating provisional governments in the Southern States without the consent of Congress, usurpation of pardoning powers, corruptly using Government patronage, and obstructing the Executive, the laws, and Congress. Mrs Lincoln and son go to England. The Democratic Convention was unanimous in iominating H. Seymour, and ! the Republicans nominated General Grant, for President. Heavy rains hay& fallen in Jamaica, causing much, damage. A shock of earthquake was felt at Kingston. A comparison of quotations of Califorman mining companies with those current a year ago shows a reduction equal to one million in the aggregate value of shares in the leading companies.
