Papers having reference to the j | Panama Mail Service ; the Postal Con- ; | ference held in Melbourne in March, | ! 1867 ; relative to certain allegations respecting the treatment of native prisoners and others in New Zealand; the number of cases heard before the Eesident Magistrates and Wardens on each of the goldfields for the year ending 30th December, 1867. The Interpretation Bill was read a third time and passed, as was also the Pawnbroker's Bill. Mr Hall moved the second reading of Mortgages on Stock Bill. After considerable discussion the motion was carried, and the Bill committed. The Ferries and Bridges Bill, and the Provincial Act Amendment Bill were considered in committee. Mr Carleton moved, " for returns of the income and expenditure of the Native Lands Courts." Motion agreed to. A Standing Orders Committee was, on the motion of Mr Hall, appointed. The House then ad- ■ journed.
