LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
Wednesday, 22nd Jttly. The Speaker took the chair at two o'clock. Correspondence relative to the establishment of a Depot at the Auckland Islands* was received ; it was notified that the Imprest Bill had received the Governor's assent. The hon Mr Mantell moved for returns showing the names and offices of all gentlemen who while holding office of emolument under the General or Provincial Governments, have been summoned to the Legislative Council since January 1862. Also for a return of all hon members of the Legislative Council who have, since January 1862 received and held offices of emolument under the General or Provincial Governments, with dates of snch appointments. The hon Dr Pollen stated that there could be no objection on the part of the Government to furnish the returns required. Motion agreed to. Leave was given for the introduction of a Prevention of Frauds Bill. Despatches were read from the Secretary of State relative to the withdrawal ot the Imperial troops (18th regiment) in transfer to New; South "Wales. The Council then adjourned.
