Exciting Kangaboo Hunt. — In the course of a very exciting kangaroo hunt at the Durham Ox a few days ago, four of the dogs fastened on one, the largest — described as being of the size of a young colt — while the other dog got hold of the second or smaller kangaroo. They were all near a large lagoon at the time, and the kangaroos took to the water. The ' old man,* with the four dogs clinging to him, fought bravely, and managing to shake off the dogs, struck out and swam away ; the other kangaroo, also managing to clear himself of his antagonist, followed the example, and both got off clear. None of the party having their guns with them at the time, they had no opportunity of preventing the escape of the kangaroos, both of which swam across the lagoon for nearly a mile; the most surprising circumstance connected therewith being the fact that both of the animals in swimming adopted the method of bipeds.
