Per Tararua, for Melbourne — Cabin: M : Hamilton, and Son, Miss Cochran, Mess;? Howard, Bastian, and 13 in steerage, The P.N.Z. and A.R.M. Cos. s.s. Rangitato, W. H. Bax commander, left Melbourne on the Ist July, at noon, passed through Port Phillip Heads at 4 p.m. j abreast of Cape Schank at 5.30 p.m.; and passed Swan Island on the 2nd at 10,30 a.m. ; made the Solander on the 5 th, at 8.45 p.m., off which she was hove to until daylight next morning, and arrived at the Bluff wharf at 10.30 a.m. same day. The paJßage from Melbourne to the Solander was attended with fine weather and favorable winds. After discharging about 15 tons cargo she left the Bluff for , Dunedin at 4 p.m. on the 6th; with favorable weather arrived at Port Chalmers at 7 a.m. on • . the 7th ; and discharged about 120 torn cargo ; left Port Chalmers at 5 p.m. on tie Bth, and experienced during the passage from Otago Heads until arriving at Bluff wharf, strong westerly gales with a nasty confused sea, arrived at Bluff wharf at 10.30 a. ai. on the 9th, put out about 30 tons cargo, and took in about < ) tons for Melbourne via Hokitika. Sailed v.om Bluff for Hokitika at 8 a.m. on the 10th. During the last two months the Rangitoto hi been to Sydney, has had a thorough overhaul, end has again resumed her usual route on the Mew Zealand coast. The P.N.Z. Co.'s s.s. Tararua, sailed from Wellington at 5 p.m., Bth inst., arriving at Lyttelton at noon, on the 9th, took in cargo, and sailed at 6 p.m. : had head gales to Otago Heads, arriving at 2 p.m. on the 10th ; coaled and discharged, and sailed at 5 p.m. on the 11th with English Mails ; had hard head gale to this port, where she arrived at 8.40. a.m., on the 12th.
