From " Daily Times," (Dunediu) 2nd August, ■we take the following items of commercial intelligence: — Trade seems inclined to take a turn for the better, and "with the commencement of a new month and an alteration in the weather, will most likely improve. The past two or three cold and wet days have prevented any particular change, and though an increased demand for country requirements has set in, and a better feeling is perceptible amongst buyers, no considerable transactions can be referred to as having taken place. In the meantime, quotations have not varied, nor prospects for any staple goods altered to an extent requiring notice. We take the subjoined from the " Lyttelton Times," 29Lhult:— We have a slight change to note in the slate of the grain market. Our quotations are — Oats, 2s 6d per bushel ; and wheat,, 3s 2d do ; flour, from £10 to £12 per ton ; bran, £4 10s, and sharps, £5 10s per ton. Good hay, at from £4 10a to £5 per ton. « "Wilson and Alport report a large amount of business at auction during the past week. On Monday and Tuesday, at the residence of H. L.
