THE GOVERNOR AT RIVERTON.
The Governor and suite left Invercargill yesterday morning at half-past seven o'clock en route for Biverton, via Wallacetown. The vice-regal party breakfasted at the house of John Morton, Esq., and were afterwards shown over that gentleman's very extensive farm. Its high state of cultivation was much praised by His Excellency. The party then proceeded on their journey to Biverton, where they arrived about noon. His Excellency was conducted to the Odd ■^Fellows' Hall, where addresses were presented to him. Lunch was partaken of at the residence of His Honor the Superintendent, (J. P. Taylor, Esq.,) which was handsomely fitted up for the occasion. The Rivertonians were much disappointed that His Excellency could not spend the night with them, as every preparation had been made. The town was gaily decorated, but we must defer farther particulars till our next issue. . »■
