♦ (to the editob op the sotxthiand times.) Sir, — Your leading article in yesterday's paper is very opportune. The number of up-country people at present in town affords an opportunity for a resuscitation of the Southland Acclimati- ■ sation Society that may not soon occuragain. If I remember rightly, Mr Pearson brought forward, at the recent sitting of the Provincial Council, a resolution upon this very subject ; perhaps he might now be induced to take the initiatory steps, and call a public meeting to consider the matter. — I am, &c., Chas. D. letine. March sth, 1867.
