RIVERTON.

GRAND FANCY BAZAAR IN AID OFTHE FDNDS OF THE ENGLISH CHURCH. (fbom ottb own cobbespondent.) The aboye Bazaar was opened in the Odd Fellows Hall on Wednesday afternoon kst, at 3 o'clock. The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion. The stalls were under the superintendence of Mesdames Oldham and Hawler, and the Misses Instone, and M' Gil vary, assisted by other ladies. There were a great variety of choice fancy articles exposed for sale, and under the able management of the above mentioned ladies (whose charming ways the gentlemen were unable to resist) soon met with many purchasers ; one ofthe principal articles displayed on the occasion was a handsome model yacht, (schooner rigged) wluch had been presented to the Church by the sons of Newton Watt, Esq., of the Bluff,' who were also the builders of it. It is a fine specimen of art, and does great credit to the above named gentlemen. The Bazaar was greatly enlivened by members of the Tonic sol fa society, accompanied by music on the piano and harmonium. T?here was a numerous attendance, both afternoon and evening, and we learned from good authority it was likely to prove a great success. This being the first day of the Bazaar, there is no doubt but the two following days will be pationised equally as well, if not better. On Thursday next, the grand cricket match of the season is to be played between ten and eleven of Eiverton and Invercargill on the first named club's ground, and in the evening there is to be a concert and ball at the Odd Fellows hall. It is to be hoped that the weather will prove fine, so as to enable the lovers of sport and amusement to be present on the occasion. The volunteers have turned out in good number* lately to drill, and made a fine show on Saturday evening last on the parade ground. It is expected they will be called upon to form a guard of honor to his Excellency the Governor, should he honor Eiverton with a visit, which it is to be hoped he will.
