MEXICO.

Advices from Mexico state that the Empire is crumbling to pieces. The Emperor Maximilian has left the capital, and left matters in charge of the Prench Marshal Bazaine. The Liberal forces continue to be successful, and everything wears the indication that the " Empire of Mexico " will soon be among the things that were. Hon Lewis D. Campbell and Lieutenant- Greneral Campbell are about to leave here for Vera Cruz in the United States war steamer Susquebannah, and their mission is stated to be to open relations and communications with the Juarez Government. The Courier des Etat ZTnis, of this city, discredits the whole story of the abdication of Maximilian, and is full of speculations upon the movements of Greneral Sherman and Mr Campbell. It says : — '•' "We demand now, more than ever where will land these new Envoys of the Grand Eepublie. At Matatnoros ? This city is in the hands of Canales, who recognizes Ortega, and not Juarez ! At Tainpico ? There, is only anarchy. No other rule existing than that of the Chief of Brigands ! At Yera Cruz ? "Without doubt, that is the surest point. Greneral Sherman will there discover the Tiralleurs of Algiers, who will take pleasure in escorting a brave soldier like him — but will it be agreeable to a loyal man like him to solicit the escort of people who have upheld the Empire, that fiig country

has resisted — and to hare hi u*<M defended and protected, &n route, by the very soldiers his Government refuses to recognize ?
