RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., E.M.) FRIDAY, 2 h*n AUGUST, 1805. James M'Lean was lined 20s, or 48 hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness. Jo_cph Wording and John Ludlam we'-e charged with maintaining unregistered dogs. Both defendants pleaded that tliev lmd destroyed tbe dogs when spoken to by the police. Tbe Resident Magistrate 'said that tbe fact of their baviug destroyed tbe clogs did not remove their ""liability, but as 'it was tlie first offence be would dismiss tbe information, but would inflict tbe penalty in all future cases of the kind proved before bim. SATURDAY, 25th AUGUST. Peter Matbeson was fined 10s, or 24 hours' imprisonment, for drunkenness.
