Cheistchtjech, 11th July. Arrived — Taranaki, from the North; the Brisk, from Picton, with timber. 8?iled — Taranaki, for Southern Ports. The Whymouth, with the telegraphic cable to connect the two Islands, has arrived at Wellington. It is expected that telegraphic communication across Cook's Straits will be completed in a month. Chrtstchtjech, 12th July. Arrived — Ship Japanese, from Callao ; Albion, from Melbourne, at Hokitika. Larg' arrivals of breadstuff's from South America. The Sydney and Adelaide papers re- ! port a great scarcity of sugar at the Mauritius. The Bruce is ashore at Okarita.
