ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
WE DO NO* IDENTIPY OTTESELYES IK ANT WAX WITH THE OPINIONS EXPEESSED. BX OUT COBEESPONDENTS. TO THE EDITOE OF THE SOtTTHLAND TIMES, Sir, — A meeting of the Horticultural and Floricultural Society is called for the 4th May ; from what I learn there was a little jealousy existing between the seedsmen in Dee-street regarding the last : exhibition. Now in my 'opinion they are . the very men that ought to encourage a thing of that sort, and as the advertisement invites all parties interested in the Society to attend- surely they will throw aside any petty ill-feeling, and "come forward and put their " shoulder to the wheel,", and assist in keeping the Society in. good working order. Such institutions as this and literary societies ought to meet with general support, and I hope all classes will unite to ensure their furtherance, and not. allow personal bickerings to keep them from doing their duty to themselves and; the Province; generally. I am, sir, yours, &c, Psogbess. Invercargill, 28th April, 1866.
