NOTICE TO MARINERS.
Dog Island, Foveaux Straits, Ligktlious^. Dog Island Lighthouse is situated on a small sland of that name in Foveaux Straits, off the entrance to the Bluff Harbor, in 46 ° 39' 35" South latitude, and 168° 26' East longtitude, as measured en the Admiralty chart. The light will show all round, and_-vill be a JEEolophotal Dioptric Kevolving White Light, of the first order, attaining its greatest brilliancy every half minute. It -will be elevated about 150 feet above the level of the sea, and will be visible in clear weather about eighteen nautical miles, allowing fifteen feet for the heightii of the observer's eye, and at lesser distances according to the state of the atmosphere. The tower is built of native stone of a grey color, and will be 118 feet in height froni the grpvinii to the top pf the lantern,
