A good story is told of a lady -whose husband had suddenly come into possession of a large fortune, and had erected a house to correspond with the enlargement of his means. The lady had heard that it was necessary to hare a "library," and accordingly sent to a popular bookseller for a good supply of books. A wellassorted library of standard works was accordingly sent to her house. Next day, down comes my lady in a towering rage at their selection. " Choicest works !" she cried, as an explanation was attempted ; " bother your choicest works ! Ihey are all different sizes and colours ! I wanted them «11 in blue and gold, to match jny furniture,"
