':./ William M'Kenzie,' charged with , being drunk, was mulcted in a penalty of 10s., with the alternative of 24 hours' imprisonment. ■ ■'• Robert Whalo was charged on the information of the Ranger with unlawful occupation of Crown lands. The case was dismissed. Civil Cases. The hearing of several civil cases -was ad«, journed. - =' '"- Wednesday, 7th Dec, 1864. ; (Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., 8.M.) : Jolm' M. Wood, charged with assaulting a con-; stable in the execution of his duty, was fined £5, or 21 days' imprisonment. . . Jamesßurke, arrested on suspicion of stealing a cow, was dischargee]. , , . ■ ; Henry Smith 'was charge:! with having an un-! registered dog. The ease was dismiisod on condition that defendant, paid 53.. 6d. costs. ' >"\ ! .Joseph Xaurido was charged. with ill-using a 1 vab'bik. •'. He was fined 203^, with costs. : ; Alexander Sayora was charged by; Joieph Laurido, with usiug threatening and abusive lati«: guage towards him. This was a most paltry case, and wa3 dismissed. ; Civil ' Cases, cozen v. henere. ,. : This was an action to recover the value of a set of sails said to have, been illegally taken by defendant. Case dismissed. ' . . : TirtrßSDi^ Bth Dec. 1864. (Before H. M'CuUoch, Esq., RM ; ) There was no criminal business brought before the Court. Civil. Cases, o'keeeb v. liitd. This was a claim for £10 — wages. The .Magistrate gave a verdict for plaintiff for £6 Is. 6d., and costs, 18s. CHARLTON V. TOBIN. This was an action for damages ■ £3 l'/s., the value of eleven goslings, said to have been killed by defendant. The plaintiff did not put in an appearance, and the case was dismissed. TOWN BOABD V. TAXXOB. This was an action to recover an assessmentamounting to £3. Verdict for plaintiffs, with 17s. costs. . . FINLAYSOK V. TAPPEE. An action to recover £100 , damages for breach of covenant, in removing fixtures from a house held by defendant under lease. The Magistrate decided that the defendant should restore the fixtures, and pay costs £6 9s. Should this decision not be complied with, verdict for plaintiff full amount.
