At our sale held on Wednesday, the 2nd insfc., 4,512 bales were catalogued, but in consequence of three large lots being withdrawn for further instructions, the actual quantity submitted to public competition was 3,414 bales. When the sale commenced it was at once eTident that buyers were prepared to operate with spirit, arid as owners had become more reasonable in their demands, a considerable, amount of business resulted. At auction we placed 1,943 bales, and by private contract afterwards 184 bales, making the total quantity sold 2,127 bales.
