They are invariably very handsome vessels, superior in size and model to our finest river steamers, which they outrival in swiftness. With full speed she breasted the .huge breakers nobly, and in a very few minutes was at the first rather sharp bend' of the creek, which, with the aid- of her reversing twin screws, she rounded with such singular ease and quickness that' called forth hearty and re^ pcated cheers. Without stopping, she •steamed up the creek and moored alongside Cameron's jetty, after which all the shareholders and visitors present were invited to partake of the company's hospitality, and drink success to tile Waipara. ; The schooner Wild Wave, Captain O'Brien, from Pictonbbund to Canterbury, with a cargo of timber, put. into port in a leaky state.
