"No boat up from steamer yet. * The Otago Mail of the 16th instant contains the following nut for our authorities to crack : — " The U.M.S.S. Aldinga, Captain Steuart, left Melbourne at 2 p.m., on the 9th inst. Experienced head seas and variable winds during- the passage as far as the Bluff, at whicli port she arrived on Wednesday at noon. Captain Steuart complains -very much of the inattention of the ■authorities, he liaving to wait for some considerable time before any notice waa taken of his arrival, and even then the mail agent was compelled to deliver the mail, Sec, to the Harbor Master, who alone paid attention to the signals made : by the s.s^ Aldinga. Captain Steuart has had occasion to complain before of this apparent neglect and inattention of the postal authorities, and we are informed that he (Captain Steuart) intends laying the i case before the proper authorities. The delay entails '• 'great inconvenience on the steapoer arriving, :and: the pubhc have but poor representatives. The Aldinga, : considering the unfavDrableYweather, gbod run, and her arrival yesterday with the English Mail 1 ctu-sed -rio little emprise." I
