THE MAIL TELEGRAM.
(to the editoe of the southland times.) j g IE; — I observe in to-day's Daily News a letter from its correspondent at the Bluff. In it he assumes that my communication to you, which appeared in Saturday's issue of the Times, was a reply to his letter in the A T ews. My letter wa3 m ' reply to a leading article in the A T ews, and I can assure the gentleman that I had not the remotest idea of noticing hi 3 letter, much le3s writing a reply to it. I can only adhere to my former statement, and wait the result ofthe investigation. — I am, &c, JAME3 WADDELL.
