Our latest dates ore to the 27th August. The Herald of that date reports as follows : — " Flour. — The flour market is a shade firoier, in consequence of very little having lately come forward i'roni South Australia. Any unexpected arrivals, however, either from California or Valparasio, would at once check any riae, there being very little desire to purchase on speculation. Adelaide flour is quoted at £22 to £23 per ton, and at these rates sales have been nmde during fclie iveek. Wheat is also fiwiioi?. A large 9ale was made in the beginning of the week at Bs. 6d., and holders are now asking 9a. for Adelaide. "Liquids. — There is very little alteration to notice. Brandy is dull of sale ; Martell'a dark is quoted at 95., but pale is difficult, and is offered at 88. 3d. to Bs. 6d., to arm c. Rum is efces ly at 3s. 4d. to 3a. sd. Geneva, 10s. b'u. Tnero hate been some small transactions in light wines at full pi*ices. • " Teas are hardly so firm, in consequence of largo shipments from Melbourne of common congous, and which have been sold at from£6 6s. to £7. Fine congous are quoted at £7 lite, to £8 10s. Very fine are scarce, and worth £9 to £10 per chest. " Sugars are a shade firmer, but no- transactions of importance have been, reported. Mauritius sugars range as follows :— Rations, £31 to £33 ; counters, £35 to £39. '' Rice continues dull of sale, and Pstna cannot te quoted higher than £20 tc £21 per ton.
