<g» TnE s.s. Gothenburg left Port Chabners at S^p-m. on the 15th. Captain Mackie reports having severe easterly weather on the passage from Dunedin. Arrived at the Bluff at 8 a.m. on the 16th. The R. M. S. Aldinga left Hobaon's Bay at 5 p.m. on the Ilth inst. Captain Stewart reports having fine weather on the passage from Melbourn with light east winds. Arrived at the Bluff at 3 p.m. on the ICth. Landed the English mail and passengers, and sailed for Dunedin at 4 p.m. We are indebted to Captain Stewart for Melbourne papers to date. The s.s. Alhambra was to sail from Melbourne on the 12th inst. for Bluff and Otago. The work of preparing for the floating of the Scotia, is progressing rapidly under the superintendence of Captain Callow and Mr. Smith. A large number of men are now employed, night and day. Lighters, tanks, water casks and canvas air bags are being brought to the scene of operations, and we believe that they will be applied to the vessel on Saturday first. We wish the enterprising company success.
