The Press, of 6th mat., reports as follows : — " Messrs. Burnell, Bennett and Sprot held an auction sale yesterday, at their yards, at Eiccarton, when the following stock were disposed of : — 6 heifers, in calf, at £12 each ; 2 ditto, at £14 ; 39 head store steers and hoifers, at £12 12s. ; 30 ditto ditto, £10 103. ; 32 ditto ditto, £9 10 ; 85 ditto ditto, £9 95. ; 35 ditto ditto, £7 75. ; 30 ditto ditto, £6 65. ; 66 store wethers, at 21s. 6d. per head, The attendance of purchasers was good, and the cattle were considered to be well sold. A few cross-bred Cotswold and Southdown rama were offered, btit failed in finding purchasers at the reserved prices."
