MAURITIUS
Via Adelaide. By the Sarah we have uowb from Mauritius to the Bth of May. The Governor (Sir Henry Barkly) had lately recovered from a severe fever. It is estimated that the stock of sugars on hand amounts to 19,000 tons, the greater part of which is crystallized. The demand for Australian sugars was inactive. Timber and other building materials were very dear, owing to their being in demand for railway purposes, and on account of moderate importations. . . Mr. O'Toole, manager of the Savings Bank, had turned up. He gave himsolf up _to the authorities. It ia believed he has been in Australia, but returned to the Mauritius, finding the police in Australia had received instructions foi his arrest,
