FOREIGN COMMERCIAL.
We have Colombo (Ceylon) files to the 16th ultimo. The Colombo Observer says : — " The total shipments during tbo past fortnight are as follow : — Plantation coffee, cwts., 15,312 ; native coffee, cwts., 6,087; cinnamon, lbs., 1,500; cocoa-nut oil, cwts., 4,650 ; plumbago, Cwts., 1,973 ; coir yarn, cwt9., 575 ; and ebony, cwts., 101. Plantation Ooptbb has been coming down but slowly, and there has not been much exposed in the market. Few or no transactions, — what has changed, hands has done so at from 13s. 6d. to 14s. per bushel. Nativb Coefbb has also been ecarce, picked and dried standing from 535. to 545. 7d. ; and unpicked, from 48s. to 495. 6d. Cocoa-nut Oil has been quiet, and may be quoted at from 235. to 245. 6d« per cwt. ; and 255. has since been asked. Tinnevellet Cotton. — The last contract for this was at rupees, 325 per candy of 5001b5. ; and Chetties are inclined to ask more. CinSamox— Notwithstanding our ample rains, this continues scarce, and remains much as before, namely, plantation, 9£d. to lOd. ; and jungle, 7d. to7idperlb. Plumbago may be quoted — lump, £8 to £8 10s., trad £13 10s., according to quality; and dust,, from £8 to £3 10s. Coie Yabk .— Low qualities stand, from 14s. to 17s. per cwt. ; middling, from 225. to 245. ; and •fine, from 28s. to 30s, This last is very scarce ; price tends upwards, ' • .i ./■■■' ♦ ..
