Oats have slightly declined, some excellent parcels of feed oats having changed hands this week at 3s. Bd. per busheL Prices rango from that to 4g. for very prime samples of good color. Tho season foi peed in.Yietoria having nearly passed, there in ' noVout little demand for them. Potatoes remain ,e\£i 10ft. per ton, bags in." " l 2?6sart Town "Mercury of the 7th inst. says: •— "'Notwithatanduig the receipt of later advices from the neighboring colonies, this morning, extreme quietness pervaded 'commercial, circles throughout the day. In breadstuff's there was less business doing, and more caution was manifested in the purchase of wheat. Some Bales, however, were mode at 12b., this being the extreme prk#. Flour waa quoted at £26 to £27 ; bran, la. ~4d. to la. 6d. In consequence of -tho advance m flour, the bakers rose 1 the price of the 2 lb. loaf. Barley (English) realises ss. -6d. to 6b., and oats 4b. to*ss. ; beans, 4s. 6d. to 65. ; peas, 4a. 6d. to 55.- ' Potatoes' were in good demand at £5 10s., or £6 iOs>, bags in.- In butterand cheese no improvement was noticeable."

We turn to the last taWe,_ia^srhiclL :b.fi.4siyjafl the . average . weight of flsece yielded by each colony fggjok, wriea of years, which ia really important:— For ■'South Australia it was 8 lbs. 15 oz. two-tenths ; Victoria, 3 lbs. 6 o«. five-tenths j Tasmania, 8 lbs. 2-oz. ; New Zealand, 2 lbß. 9 oz. trine-tenthe ; for New South Wales, 2 lbs. 6 or; one-tenth ; and Queensland, 1 Ib. 10 ot. 'seven-tenths.
