DUNEDIN COMMERCIAL REPORT.
The last few days havo been devoid of interest in commercial circles, business being limited, and restricted in most instances to tlio daily requirements of the trade. . Sttgab.— At Dalgety, Rattray, and Co.'s sale, on Wednesday last, about 2,500 bags were sold at a decline of £2 to £3 per ton in rates previously ruling. Second counters sold at £32 to £33 10s. ; first counter, £35 to £36 10s. ; and loose whito to fine white crj'stals, £37 10s. to £39 155. ; all in bond. Flouk. — The high rates now demanded by holders restrict business, but in the absence of supplies, holders remain firm afc £35 for Adelaide brands. The arrival of a few hundred tons would immediately depress the market. Bacon and Hams. — Good business continues to be done in these articles, but at prices which show a downward tendency. Sinclair's brand has been sold at is. Id. ; Cooey's at Hf d. j and other less favorite brands at lid. Cakdles. — Belmont still inquired for, but buyers less disposed to give ls. 0-J-d. Soap. — -Steel's Liverpool in limited supply aud . { 6ells at £37 per ton. >. Brandy. — Marfcell and Hennessy's pale in less supply, and holders stand out for 10s.' 6d. * Whiskt. — Sales have been made of Kirkliston, bulk, at 35. ; cases, 7s: 6d. to Bs. ; and Campbelton, bulk, at 3s. 6d. Building Material.— At A. G.Fishevand Co.'s lai'ge sale to-day, no business was done, but, since the sale, it. is understood considerable lines have been placed with the trade, at -prices which havo not transpired, but supposed to show very littlo alteration hi the rates lately ruling for Scotch flooring, deals, and galvanised iron. — Daily Times, llth inst. ; . .
