Neapolitan Brigandage. — The Pungole oi Naples states that a few days ago a Captain Renzovich was escorting the mail to Campobasso, -with twentythree horsemen, when he espied the band of Caruso, consisting of fifty men„ coming towards him. He immediately formed his men, ancl after a severe engagement took a few brigands prisoners', and forced the remainder to take to flight. On the following day Caruso and his band entered a farm, near Torre, Maggoire, aud killed twenty-four oxen ; but troops coming up, the brigands fled to a place called Coppi di Negro, 'Avhere however they found another detachment Avhich attacked them and wouuded several, whom their companions conveyed away in their flight. Having arrived at Lueera,' they Avere attacked by a squadron of Lancers, who killed five of them and took seven horses. The number of wounded could not be ascertained, but they must 1 have been, many, because nearly all the lances were stained with blood. N evertheless^that very night this same band entered a farm near Oastelnuovo and murdered thirteen peasants, cutting their throats with razors in' order not to give the alarm" by using firearms. On the 22nd the band was 'again pursued, and one of its leaders (Varanelli) was killed, and his' body subsequently exposed to view afc- San Marco. " /
