By this decision a judgment creditor is confirmed in his rights. i Aji action for libel has been instituted against Lord Leitrim at Dublin. The Palmerston scandal turns out a scarecrow. High officials crack jokes upon it. Ministerial colleagues propose calling him " our own co-re-spondent." King beat Heenan in the fight for £2000 aside and the championship of the world. He gave him' a tremendous thrashing. They. were both afterwardc indicted before the magistrates. The papers contain a long account of the fight. They say Heenan can't fight, he can only wrestle. Heenan has disappointed his friends greatly, They fought qwenty-six rounds, the fight lasting for forty minutes! It is understood the Bishopric of Tasmania has been offered to the Ilev. Mr. Allwood of Sydney. Mr. Maguire has been elected Mayor of Cork for the fourth time. Thackerary, the celebrated novelist was found dead in his bed.
