Construction of forty-eight chains of the Koad from Invercargill to Campbelltown, near O'Brien's Accommodation House. Tenders received till noon of Monday, 28th December. 4 Pitching and Metalling Great North Road from Invercargill to Waihopai Bridge. — Tenders received till noon of the sth January, 1864. 5. Construction of 141 £ Chains of the Road from Riverton to Otautau.— Tenders received till noon of the sth January, 186*. Painting Police Station and Stables, Gore. No eligible tender having been received, tenders will be received till noon of the 29 th inst. 4. School and Teacher's House, Waianiwa District, Section 3, Block V. — Tenders j received till noon of the sth January. 1864. IMMIGRATION. fT^HE Government of Southland having JL issued instructions to the Home Agents to lay on vessels from Great Britain, direct for the Bluff, with immigrants, the attention of parties interested in the Province is directed to the following Section of Instructions to Immigration Agents— namely, " Persons residing an the Province of Southland, desirous of assisting their friends to immigrate to the Province, may obtain for them assisted passages hither, by pre-paying •one-third of the passage money, and accepting a Bill for the remaining two-thhds, drawn by the Provincial Treasurer, and endorsed by a substantial householder, residing in the Province, and approved of by the Superintendent as sufficient security for the same. " In the event of parties not availing themselves of such assisted passages within twelve months, their certificates may be cancelled, and the prepaid amount returned to the Applicants." Passages at the rate of £15 10s per statute adult, of which one-third (£5 3s 4d) to be prepaid. Applications for Passage Certificates for the January mail to be made at this office between the hours of ten and three o'clock on Monday, Wednesda}', and Friday in each week afcer the 3rd of January, 1864. PLANS and Specifications for the Construction of that Portion of this Railway extending from the Puni Creek to the commencement of Contract No. 1, a distance of about 2-£ Miles, will be open for inspection at the offices of the Railway Engineer, on and after 4th January, 1864.
