Late Advertisements. CHRISTMAS EXCURSION.. A VERY eenerol desire being felt in rnvercargill of VISITING STEWARTS ISLAND, the undersigned have formed themselves into a Committee with the view of affording an oppor tunity on CHRISTMAS DAY to those wishing it It is proposed hiring one of tho coasting steamers for tbe occasion. THE following is a Programme of Sports, open to ail comers, on Boxing Day, at Bluff Harbor, for which prizes will be awarded, viz : — Six oared gig race 200 yards foot race Climbing the greasy pole Running high leap Catching pig with greasy tail Running in sacks Wheelbarrow race, blindfolded Walking the greasy pole at high water mark Three standing jumps 300 yards hurdle race, with six hurdles 800 yards walking match Hot rolls and treacle Wrestling, open to all Cumberland and Westmoreland men Quoit match Single wicket march G. A REGATTA will be held at Riverton on Saturday, 26th instant (Boxing Day), when the following prizes will be competed for by boats belonging to Riverton, provided by the Committee . — FIEST BACK. Scull Match. — Once round the course. Entrance, 10s. Prize, £ SECOND RACE' Double Scull Mateh — Once round the course. Entrance, 10a. Prize, £ THIRD BACK. Pair Oared Match. — Once round the course. Entrance 10s- Prize, £ FOURTH BACB. Sailiso Match, — Open to any class of boats, the bona fide property of people in Rirerton. Distance twice round the course. Entrance 10s. Prize, £ FIFTH BACB.
