As a mark of theirappreoiation ofhis kindness to them, and of the estimation in which his qualities as a seamaii were held, the passengers by the schooner Jane jijst arrived from Melbourne, have presented the commander, Captain Duncan, with a very flattering testimonial. "" The S.S. Ruby, secured by the enterprise of Messrs Henderson, Bonar and Co for this port (Invercargill), is found to work remarkably well. For tug purposes sbe is well adapted ; and save a somewhat defective nautical management, answers in every respect. The S.S, Edina left Melbourne at 9 p.m. on Thursday, 17th inst, and arrived at the Bluff about 4 p.m. Wednesday, 23rd instant, having made the passage from anchorage to anchorage in five and a-half days.
