SWITZER'S. THREE NEW RUSHES.

fntOM OUR COHRE.SI*ONI)EN'T.) There is groat excitement here jnst now in consequence of a rumor that three new rushes have taken place. One. the "Winding Creek, about five miles from this; it is said that very good prospects are to be had there — one to two dwts. to the dish- — ■twenty-five feet sinking. A large number of miners have left for this rush. Another, the Waikia, about twelve miles off. Thence some miners arrived the other day, who told me that they had been driven away by the snow. They expressed, however, an intention of returning as soon as the weather should permit. They shewed me some samples of gold dug at the Waikia, which appeared of a very superior description. The third rush is described as being at Potter's Gully, about five miles from Switzer's. Report speaks remarkably well of this gully. Altogether Switzer's i s looking up, and if the new rushes turn out as i favorably as represented, will be an important township, a prosperous diggings, and a material aid to Invercnrgill, its natural port. I may in addition mention that the Waikia is entirely dependent upon Switzer's for supplies. It cannot for the last five miles bo approached by drays, so that all provisions will have to be packed on horses. The Township, bwiUor"b, loth August.
