Silver Lead Mining. — The operations at the new silver lead discovery at Encounter Bay are proceeding very satisfactorily. The indications throughout the sinking are exceedingly promising, and warrent good expectations. Erom all I can hear, I think there can be no doubt that a large and valuable mineral discovery will be made there in a week or two ; allthe appearances are of the best order, and exactly correspond with the "couutry" at the Cape Jarvis Mines. A beautiful specimen of chrys talised quartz, about 3 feet long was dug "up the other day •which attracted general attention from the beautiful form and polished edges it presented the presence of the metal i 3 distinctly dep\ ' tected throughout the lode, which has bek£\'\ come very, soft and easily worked.
