(Fi-oin the A>\,/us, May 29.) Thero has been some activity in the markets today. The cii'sio ot rice ex Pudel, from Calcutta, was offered by auction at Messrs. Fraser and Cohen's, and drew .a large audience. Tiie views of buyers did not, however, moot those of the holders, and the whole was withdrawn at L' 24 per ton. Messrs. Frascr and Cohen sold the remaining portion of the cargo of this vessel — gunnyba<rs, at 113 per dozen ; Calcutta lines, at L 44 per ton; and portion of the cargo of the St. Lmis, from Cbarente — pale brandy, 63 Id per gallon; dark do, as »<l per gallon ; also, Hall's blasting pow.ler, more or less damaged, at 4d per lb. Messrs. Crcuimell, M'Caul and Co. sold at Cole's bonded store, lion brand twist tobacco, Is 3d per lb, in bond; eagle brand do, 3s 9d ; Cuieves do, 33 3d to 43 -id ; i-rest, 3s lid to 4-i ; black diamond, 4s Id ; carrier dove, 3s 7d to 4s ; monarch, haltpound lumps. Is ikl to Is lOd ; irone do. Is 8d to 2* 2d ; sherry, do, Is 4.1 ; unique, do, 3j Id. Also, tho stock-in-trade of general ironmongery of Messrs. Milne and Edwards, Bourke- street, at good prices.
