A fair amount of transactions Lave taken placo within the last few days, and in aome instances a greater amount of business would have taken place in certain articles of produce had the supply been equal to the demand. Wheat arrives but slowly, .i&and the price, 5s per bushel, is well sustained i» quiet, even for home consumption, at '*'$£]$.? Oats have declined in price, the highest V quotation being now ss. Cape barley is steady at %s 3d ; English barley is still in demand, and Ranges from 5s 9d to 6s 3d. We know of one parcel; a superior sample which was quitted at the JatiSsfcSgure: There is a. Bteady demand for pea 3,

which are quoted at from 4a to 4s 3d. A parcel was sold yesterday at 4s 3d. Beans nre saleable at 4s Cd. The supply of potatoes is greater than tho demand, and they are quoted at £5, or £5 15s, bags in. Onions, £13 ;or for a very superior sample, £14. There is no demand at all for pressed hay, and quotations are nominal ; loose is from £5 10s to £6. Hard fruit is in steady demand, at from 7s 6d to 8s per bushel. Butter is from Is 2d to Is 4£d, the latter quotation being credit price. (From the Advertiser, Ist May.) Wheat comes forward slowly, but quotations remain unchanged. Large stocks are held by the millers, and holders do not appear anxious to quit at current rates ; there is, however, little probability of any advance at present. The highest price reported to have been obtained is 5s per bushel. For flour there is a moderate local demand at £13 per ton. Oats to-day were exceedingly dull of Bale, and a decline in prices is reported. Quotations now are from 4s 9d to 5s per bushel. English barley is in demand, and selling at 6s to 6s 6d ; and Cape, 43 to 4s 3d. Loose hay commands from £5 10s to £6 per ton, and several sales have been effected at the latter figure. Country pressed is worth £6 to £6 10s. Onions are in moderate demand for exportation, at £12 to £14. Potatoes are not worth more than £5 to £5 10s per ton ; the market is well stocked. Butter is in fair demand at Is to Is 4|d.
