INVERCARGILL HORSE, CATTLE, AND SHFEP MARKET.
Messrs. Robertson & Co. report:—We have little to add to our last week's report, except that the scarcity of first-class heavy draught horses is increasing, nnd the demand as a matter of course is greater. High prices will be obtained for the first few lots that may arrive. Tho demand for superior light draught and good hacks is also great, and if the market is not again overstocked we may expect that remunerative rates will rule for some time to come. The sales we have effected during the week have been entirely private, the yards being all but deserted. We quote heavy draught £75 to £90, light draught £50 to £60, good haoks £35 to £55, inferior £20 to £25. . Cattle. — Much required, few offering. Storo Cattle worth £11 10 ato £13,— calves under six months given in. Fat cattle very scarce; first class beef worth from 60s to 65s per 100 lbs. Sheep. — Store Sheep newly imported worth 255, acclimafised ewes 30s to 325, fat wethers 35s to 38s, accordin g to weight. Station Property. — None worth notice in the market, — several inquiries for really good ones.
