On "Wednesday last the nomination of four niPinbors for llio 'J'own Board, in Ibe room of Messrs Blacklor-k, Gnrthwaite, Grieve, andStiri liner- who retired l>y rotation, took piano. Thorp I were about a dozen electors present, and but very j little intcrrst appeared to be taken in the proI feedings. The JtctnrniiisT Officer (ttobrrt Mitchell, Esq.) said that the object of their assembling that day was to elect four members for the Town Board, arid inquired whether any of the electors present had a candidate to propose, After the lapse of some time, Mr Garthwaite proposed Mr John Blacklock, seconded by Mr Grieve. Mr Grieve proposed Mr Garthwaite, seconded by Mr Bain. Mr B;un proposed Mr Duncan M'Arlhur, seconded by Mr Garthwaite. Mr Bain proposed Mr W. B. Mrnkman, seconded by Mr Thomas Smith. Mr John Kirkwood proposed Mr James Stirling, seconded by Mr "Wilson. Mr Melvnr proposed Mr Jas. Grieve, seconded by Mr W. V.
