INVERCARGILL HORSE, CATTLE, AND SHEEP MARKET.

Messrs. Hamilton and Procter report :— The horse market this week has not been ■well supplied with the stock required, and consequently prices have ranged lower. In fat as well as in store stock, we have no alteration to report from our last quotations. For working bullocks there is an increased demand, in consequence of the requirements of the diggings. We sold a splendid lot to-day, at £80 per pair. Steers fit for the yoke, and good dairy cows are inquired for. Heavy draught horses — from £85 to £120; medium— from .£65 to £85. Messes. Roburtson & Co. Report: — ■ Business rapidly improving. Horse market has this week been supplied by two arrivals, which have sold at fair prices. Heavy draught, pack, or good useful hacks in demand. We have sold draught horses at from £65 to £90 ; inferior, £55 to £80; hacks, from £35 t) £60; packs, from £10 to £50. Fat Cattle — No oin the market — worth from 00s to 65s per cwt. Store cattle, worth from £11 to £15. Working bullocks would fetch from £70 to £100 per pair : none in market. Fat Sheep. — None in market ; prime wethers worth from 45s to 555, according to weights. Station Property wanted ; little or none in the market at present.
