MEETING OF FLOCKOWNERS AT RIVERTON.

A meeting of (he flockowncrs of the Province of Southland was held ;it the Marine Hotel, llivcrlon, on Sal unlay last, to take into consideration his Honor the Superintendent's communication respecting the appointment of nn additional Scab Inspector. Mr. C. Basstian occupied the chair.

.Mr. Justin Aylmer moved — "That o:ifi Inspector is sufficient, and that lie .should personally inspect all imported sheep immediately on their having landed ; should he be unable to proceed up the country when called upon, two or three stockowners, in convenient localities, be appointed sub-inspectors, allowing them a stated mileage amount while on duty." Seconded by Mr. A. M. Clark, and carried. Mr. A. M. Clark moved— " That an answer to his Honor's circular be drawn up and signed by the gentlemen attending this meeting, and a deputation be appointed, consisting of Mr Justin Aylmer and the mover, to wait on the Superintendent." Seconded by Captain Ilowell, and carried unanimously. To His Honor the Superintendent.
