Messrs Hamiitos & Procter report: —
There is an improvement in the stock market ; superior draught horses and working bullocks are much inquired for. Prices have not ranged high the last week, in consequence of the stock coming to hand not being the description required. Wo sold a few unbroken fillies and colts at satisfactory prices. AYe quote as follows: — Heavy draught horses, superior, £75 to £100; medium, £05 to £'S5 ; hacks, superior, £50 to £75 ; inferior and pack horses, £30 to £15. Fat stock are inquired tor; beef, from GOs to 65s ; fat sheep, 28s to 425.
?(orc Sheep. — There is a considerable demand for this description of stock ; from 4 to G tooth are preferred. The quantity of meat consumed at the several diggings will be an inducement for people to import stock from the Australian colonies direct to Southland.
